After coming back from the Asia MMA Summit 2013 that happened in Singapore, I got really excited for the plans in stored for the MMA industry in the Asian region. Looking how strong One FC is in this region and an article about how One FC is comparable to UFC, being the power in the East vs the UFC, the power in the west, it would be an interesting years to come for the MMA industry. One FC is looking to standardize things through their aid of personal trainers which they would fly around the region. There are a lot of good things happening in the industry and it is starting to boom especially under the watchful eyes of One FC and its wonderful team lead by Victor Cui, the CEO of One FC.
Now what to look forward to in the Summit would be speeches by some veterans in the industry brought over from the United States who has a lot of experience in UFC as well as people of the media from various media. There was also a speech that many were looking forward to. Now who could say no to the sharing by Bruce Lee’s younger brother, Robert Lee and his elder sister, Phoebe Lee. They had a great time sharing stories about their beloved brother.
Now to get to the Summit, on the first day we arrive, we went for a cocktail party, of which I would not have pictures to, because it was merely a socializing event to mingle with the fighters and the various important people who has vested interest in One FC and its undertakings.
So on the second day, which was a full day event, running from morning till evening, the hall was packed with people to a point that they needed to bring in extra chairs.
Some of the important people among the crew to cover this event via blogging scene~!
The cosplayer, Hui Min
The ever ready and full of professionalism, Benjamin Foo.
In the two pics below, you would see a glimpse of Joanna, Marilyn and of course Missyblurkit.
The stage, where a lot of ground breaking news, and sharing done throughout the Summit.
The Hall, that was pack to the brim with people. They were an awesome crowd of fighters and gym owners and people from the media as well as some fantastic speakers for the event.
One of the sponsors of the Summit. I kinda lost this wrist band that actually contains a discount code for the subscription of this magazine.
The opening speech by Victor Cui was a strong one to start out the day. He certainly is a strong man, with a very solid vision of where he wants his baby, One FC to be, the one true power to rival that of the UFC. He has certainly gave me an idea on what One FC is truly aiming for and making listing out briefly what would be done towards
Here are a few of the more prominent speakers of the day, and they were really good in their speeches and they were funny too.
Renzo Gracie, a truly funny guy, who is a MMA trainer and gym owner.
Rich Franklin, whom many says looks like Jim Carrey, and I have to agree. A secret speaker, who was actually a real teacher before he quit to do MMA full time. And to note, it was not an overnight decision, it was a decision made over a period of many many years~!
This man needs no introduction, Jason Lo, the man of Tune Talk who is really into MMA and has invested time and money in creating their own Amateur League, under MIMMA.He was certainly funny and charismatic in his own unique manner. Awesome guy indeed.
Mark Raimondi from New York Post for his section on MMA as a sport. Giving insight on the MMA scene in the United States.
John Vamvakitis, the man from YouTube Sports who shed light about the position of YouTube in airing sports related news and events.
Now not forgetting the highly anticipated speaker, Robert Lee.
I was amazed by how well he spoke and how well he was able to describe how his brother was in his life.
Robert trying to show what he was taught by his dear brother to the current MMA fighters.
Now moving to Phoebe Lee, Bruce Lee’s elder sister. She shed light on how her brother was when he was a young boy and always keep on stating that he had a really kind heart. It was heart warming to hear her share her story about her brother because she had difficulty in speaking in English, but, I have to say she fared very well.
A short media Q&A session for both Robert and Phoebe Lee about their brother.
And that was the end for the first and very eventful day.
I had not recorded the second day with my iPad and of course there won’t be any pictures of the second day from me.
All I could say that, it was an awesome 3 days event with the event well organized, despite a few hiccups that was quickly sorted out.
I had to say, I fully enjoyed the 3 days and not forgetting, had a good idea of where MMA would be in the coming years in the Asia region. Only awesomeness coming your way.
