I was figuring out where was this Impromptu that I was heading to. Thankfully there is Google Maps that help me led to an area I am a little familiar with, as i used to pass by it.
Thankfully, I found myself to the place safely, and also arrived at the same time the person who invited me.
Now lets take a look at how Impromptu looks like.
Looking at how simple it is, that is basically the front of Impromptu while opposite it is the sitting area for customers. It has a simple yet efficient looking layout here. It certainly gave out a very nice and warm atmosphere to me.
Now lets take a look at the food to be put up.
First off, are the drinks~!
The Chocolate, Vanilla, & Coffee Milkshake
Cranberry Crush & Lemonade Crush
These are the drinks that we ordered that day. Of course, me being the safe guy for that day, I had the Chocolate Milkshake. And though I rarely take Milkshake, I quite like the taste of this one. The others also had a taste of my Chocolate Milkshake and commented that my Milkshake tasted much better than theirs and decided to add chocolate into their own Milkshake. As for the Crushes, well, I did not get a chance to sample, or rather, I decided to forgo it.
For the drinks, the pricing was pretty standard (based on old menu as they were in the midst of planning a new menu) for a normal cafe / restaurant. Would it be worth it? Well, that depends on you for sure.
Now moving onto the food section of this post, we shall take a look at some of the food that were digested that day. This is certainly sending my mouth into a salivating mode.
Japanese Wafu Salad with Soft Shell Crab
Crispy Crab Cakes
Now going through the 2 appetizer dishes above, those who knows me well, knows that I do not eat crab, but somehow the Soft Shell Crab tasted awesomely good in my mouth that day. It went pretty well with the salad and the Wafu dressing that they do sell in bottles (though I don’t know what the selling price is at).
Now lets take a look the main dishes.
Lamburger (one of the signature dishes)
Sauteed Mushroom & Veggies Panini
The two dishes above certainly had a nice taste to it especially the Lamburger as it was said to be one of the signature dishes of Impromptu and I have to agree that the Lamburger had a nice taste to it, and for those who wants to go vegetarian, then the Sauteed Mushroom & Veggies Panini would suit your tastebuds as it was pretty flavourful as well.
Next up are the pastas.
Grilled Chicken Pesto with plain fettuccine
Seafood Tom Yam with mixed herbs fettuccine
Curried Soft Shell Crab with charcoal spaghetti
Now lets talk Pasta~!
We were served with these three pasta, and I have to say, I prefered the Curried Soft Shell Crab with charcoal spaghetti over the other 2 pasta dishes. This is most probably because, the Grilled Chicken Pesto with plain fettuccine tasted a little too bland for me, while the Seafood Tom Yam with mixed herbs fettuccine did tasted great but somehow it lacked the Tom Yam kick that you would usually get from Tom Yam. Maybe the word Tom Yam raise my expectations of the dish by too much.
As for the Curried Soft Shell Crab with charcoal spaghetti, though it doesn’t really taste like curry, I felt only a subtle hint of the curry instead of an overpowering taste of curry. I believe this was done on purpose by the chef for us to enjoy not just the gravy part of the dish, but rather each element on the plate itself. Because of the non-overwhelming curry taste, the charcoal spaghetti and the soft shell crab has its own unique taste which blended pretty well for me. Though I would preferred for a stronger taste of the Tom Yam as well as the Curry.
We also had a chance to take a look at the 3 different types of pasta that they had used in the dishes served to us.
Hand-Made Pasta (charcoal, mixed herbs or plain spaghetti/fettuccine)
We were then served with dessert and I have to admit that this was no longer my area of interest as I seem to have lost the interest in cakes, and ice cream and desserts. Not too sure why, but I am not enthusiastic about it anymore. Sad but true.
Nonetheless, lets take a look at the pictures.
Chocolate Cheese Brownie with vanilla ice-cream
Tiramisu (Non-Alcoholic)
I certainly enjoyed the dishes served there, though I was terribly stuffed to the brim with food (considering how much of a small eater I am).
Now here is the address for Impromptu:
Now looking at the location, it would be a great place for lunch especially for the office crowds from the surrounding office buildings. And it is great to know that they are open from 10am to 9pm from Monday to Friday.
Before I sign off, I would like to thank Edwin of Click Click Culinary for the pictures above as well as the pictures in the gallery below. I do hope that you enjoy this post and find it useful. Just a nobody signing out.
