That is right people, I got myself a manicure. It is something that I have been wanting to try out for quite awhile now wondering what is behind all of these manicure and pedicure.
It was my first time and I was like a manicure virgin. Totally unprepared for what is to come. So I braved myself to enter Posh Nails and get my manicure here.
Nicely enough, it wasn’t decorated with too much girly stuff. With its simplistic design, it made it easy for me to feel comfortable. Also knowing that this establishment is not a women only establishment.
The owner, Kelly Gan was a very friendly person and was easy to chat with. I was informed that Posh Nails has its regular male clients, which made me felt at ease knowing I am not the only guy who is getting manicure and pedicure (well in my case I am only getting a manicure done).
The products that Kelly uses for treatment at Posh Nails. She mentioned that Posh Nails specializes in treatment, but of course, she still does nail art.
Armed with the latest colours from OPI, she is confident that she would have the latest colors from OPI (can anyone familiar with this confirm this for me?).
These were the few colours she has on display. There were other colours on display, but knowing me, I kinda forgot to take picture of those.
Well, now lets get to my experience.
It started off with cleaning my hand using the hand sanitizer gel. Kelly explained that this was to ensure that the cleanliness is maintained.
Follow by clipping on the nails, and filing them down into shape.
She then applied some cream around my nails and started to work on it. I don’t really know how to explain it, but she was cleaning the nails.
After cleaning the nail, she started with clipping off the excess skin that was left after she cleaned the nails.
The picture above is in the midst of clipping off the extra skin that was removed from the surface of the nail.
After that the fingers are soaked in water.
After awhile she would then take some moisturizer and apply them on m hand and gave it a massage. Felt pretty good considering how much work I had put into my arms the day before at gym.
She then ended it by asking me whether I would like to apply a coat of enamel or apply oil. I opted for the oil because the enamel would require me to remove it using the nail polish remover (and I believe that my mother don’t have anymore of those).
And I was done. My manicure was completed within an hour. It was really a fun experience, and I think I am beginning to understand why girls do it (because it looks clean), and why more and more men are doing it too (to look prim and proper).
But the thing is, will it soon be a norm for guys to go for manicure and pedicure as well in the future? Men nowadays are taking care of their face by using facial care products aren’t they?
Well, I am opinionated that guys will catch on to this and would make their appointments to get their manicure and pedicure.
I also got my hands on the prices at Posh Nails.
The pricing seems competitive and look what I had to pay~! RM28 for manicure~! Add an additional RM38 for pedicure.
Now at Posh Nails, they are very committed to getting the latest colors and the cleanliness. They sterilize their equipment using BARBICIDE. Keeping it nice and clean for the clients.
Posh Nails is located at the address below:
And here is a map, if the address is not enough.
And you can find Posh Nails on Facebook too~!
Here is a lil tip for those who are not very familiar with the area. There is a multi level carpark and it is located at the Central Park in the map above. First 3 hours for only RM1. So that allows you to enjoy Snowflakes which is also walking distance from Posh Nails.
Now here is some good news~! I am GIVING AWAY 10, yes that is TEN RM10 vouchers to give away from Posh Nails, and I am giving it out~!
All you need to do is blog why you want the voucher, and link it to this blog post. After doing so, drop a comment here and I shall head on over take a look. Nothing fancy necessary, but would be much appreciated~! =)
