Recently, an opportunity came knocking on my door when I saw a friend posted about HTC looking for HTC phone enthusiast. Of course, being a newbie who has just picked up some knowledge about the Android OS from watching a few video reviews of fthe HTC phones, I decided to give it my best by sending in my application. Fortunately enough, after a round of testing, I was chosen to represent HTC. With that in mind, I did some extended research in terms of the Android operating system (“OS”) as well as the Windows Phone 7 OS.
On the day, I was there early to take a look at the launching ceremony which were attended by the press media. I also asked the person in charge whether I could take photos for my blog and he allowed it and said to share it. Unfortunately I am only sharing after the event has ended.
The press conference was held at Fahrenheit 88. It is a beautiful venue to have the press conference and most of the media were busy among themselves when I was there. During the launching, there a whole lot of flashes going on, and unfortunately mine was not one of them.
In conjunction with this event, Maxis and HTC was giving away free complimentary tickets to watch Maroon 5 in April. The price of the tickets are said to be worthed at RM255, the standing zone. Apparently there were certain hours whereby, instead of getting one ticket for every phone purchased, it would be TWO tickets given away~!
The Windows Phone 7 operating system is being largely introduced. And though it may be new among the other major players, the Windows Phone 7 OS certainly does have great potential ahead of it. So the HTC Mozart 7 and HTC HD 7 was largely on display.
There were 5 phones that were on display. They were…
HTC Wildfire – Android
HTC Desire – Android
HTC Desire Z – Android
HTC Mozart 7 – Windows Phone 7
HTC HD 7 – Windows Phone 7
These two phones would get you a free ticket to watch Maroon 5 live in Kuala Lumpur in April. The other phone that would get you a free ticket to watch Maroon 5 would be the HTC Mozart 7. That would mean when either a HTC Desire Z, HTC Mozart 7 or a HTC HD 7 is purchased, a complimentary ticket would be given to the buyer. And if you are lucky and bought it during the bonus time, then it would be 2 tickets~!
Of course Maxis and HTC mentioned that existing customers are able to purchase the tickets at 10% off. Its not much, but its still better than nothing. Especialy if you get to watch Maroon 5~!
During my time at the event as the HTC specialist, I was given the opportunity and time to play and test out the four phones below~!
Of course there are some that are my favourites and some just did not catch my attention as much.
As I had previously played around with the Android OS, I was more keen in the Windows Phone 7 OS phones like the HTC Mozart 7 and the HTC HD 7. I tested out both in terms of their speed and their fluidity and I was simply blown away by how smooth it was in terms of the interface.
I also tested out typing on the devices and I was attracted by how easy and responsive it was to type on the HTC HD 7. As compared to the HTC Mozart 7, I find it a little difficult to type correctly on the HTC Mozart 7 as compared to the HTC HD 7. Of course this could be due to the fact that the HTC Mozart 7 is only 3.7″ and is not as large as the 4.3″ HTC HD 7.
It was lovely to see how well the HTC HD 7 performed in my hands in that few hours I had my chance to paw my hands all over it. If I was given the chance, I would certainly like to review the HTC HD 7 and give a try at the Offices suite that is installed in the phone itself.
Do drop by Maxis and HTC to find out more about the alluring phones and the wonderful packages that they have to offer. It looks like Maxis is offering discount on Maroon 5 ticket purchase with the purchase of HTC phones.
So what are you waiting for~! Faster head over to Maxis and find out more~!
Do catch Maroon 5 here in Kuala Lumpur in April alright~!
