Only recently I decided to head to the cinema to watch TRON: Legacy. It was a last minute decision to do so. And I was almost late for the movie. As the traffic to Tropicana City Mall proves to be quite a standstill (its more like I kinda choose the wrong route to head over).
I have to say I was quite amazed by the cinema (most likely because it is still brand new) though I had to run right into the cinema hall to catch the movie in time. But I gotta say the seats has ample leg space (a good plus for me because of my long legs). It is nice cinema to watch movies in.
And of course I enjoyed the movie.
Here is a little synopsis I gotten my hands off from Nuffnang:
“TRON: Legacy” is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), a rebellious 27-year-old, is haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his father Kevin Flynn (Oscar®- and Golden Globe®-winner Jeff Bridges), a man once known as the world’s leading video-game developer. When Sam investigates a strange signal sent from the old Flynn’s Arcade—a signal that could only come from his father—he finds himself pulled into a digital world where Kevin has been trapped for 20 years. With the help of the fearless warrior Quorra (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe—a universe created by Kevin himself that has become far more advanced with never-before-imagined vehicles, weapons, landscapes and a ruthless villain who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape. Presented in Disney Digital 3D™ and scored by Grammy® Award-winning electronic music duo Daft Punk, “TRON: Legacy” hits U.S. theaters on Dec. 17, 2010, in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D

Well I did what someone had commented to do before watching this movie and that is to watch the 1st Tron movie from 1982. I was in luck because I was able to get my hands on a copy of it from the net and had a good time reminiscing how much technology has evolved since back then.
The story was not as complex as it is nowadays but it was still pretty good nonetheless.
Now back to TRON: Legacy, I saw some old tricks that were used again in this movie from its predecessor. It was nice to see that they are reliving the moment from the old movie.
The graphics were simply beautiful especially in the world of The Grid. I certainly like the light cycle battle but I wish there were more of the light cycle battle in the movie. I also love the vehicles that were in the movie. It was very creative.
I do feel that certain parts of the movie was a little draggy and made me yawn a little as it made me relaxed.
I gotta say the movie was lacking in pretty gals other than Quorra (played by Olivia Wilde). Now she is a beauty. She had acted pretty nicely in the movie, but I don’t quite like the lead guy (played by Garrett Hedlund). Can’t put it why but its more about his acting. But Jeff Bridges was still awesome~!
Overall, this movie is a great action flick with some parts of interesting plot. And now I hear that would be a sequel. That would certainly make it awesome~!
This movie is great film for adults and family alike, but there might be a tad too much violence for the really young ones, but it is a beautiful movie in terms of graphics and creativity which would allow children to be a lil more creative on their own.
