It has been too long since I last immerse myself in the local comic and graphic novel scene and the Comic Fiesta is an event that has been happening over the past few years. This time I am gonna make the effort to go. Its held at Berjaya Timesquare Hotel, Manhattan Ballroom on the 18th and 19th December, which is this coming weekend~! Woohooo~!
I used to head over to Sg Wang Plaza for the fest held by Gempak Starz as I was once hooked onto Gempak, Utopia & Starz~! I still miss those good old days whereby I would head over to the store to get the latest Gempak & Utopia. But I started out pretty late, somewhere around 2004 or was it 2005. I still wear some of the t-shirts that were sold back then. Some still look as if they are still brand new whereas some has been worn so often that it really looks awful, but nonetheless, I love those tees~!
Well back to Comic Fiesta.
I am not sure what to expect as I have been missing it for the past few years and even now they charge an entrance fee.

I got that image off their website. Though it is not really updated. I would really like to get a glimpse of how things has grown in this industry that was pretty small back about 5 to 6 years ago. Because I heard from a girl that the number of cosplayers has grown dramatically and has created an insane scene and demand for cosplay costumes. Whoever are making and selling them are certainly making tonnes of money by now.
Of course I might have the opportunity to go in as a media representative, but that is totally dependent on company. Nonetheless I would still head over to have a look and gain some new insights on these stuff. Seeing that I have always been a fan of animes and mangas, these would be a great avenue for me to meet others who feels the same.
However, I am unsure whether there are people as old as me there. Well maybe there would as I know a few friends around my age who still cosplays for these events. I can’t wait. Though I do like to get some media kit for this.
