My first attempt at the Spartacus Workout: Fail To Complete
I totally underestimated the intensity of the Spartacus Workout by thinking I would be able to complete the workout with minimal difficulties. By the time I hit the 7th out of the 10 exercises, I was not only sweating profusely but also feeling very dizzy, and my legs were wobbly. I was literally out of breath~!
I could not believe that not only my stamina is low and my legs were weak as well. For that short amount of workout, it took me more than 15 minutes to recover some of my strength. I tried to do some other workouts which I normally do, but the Spartacus Workout sapped all my strength away. I was not able to do much after the 1st failed attempt at the Spartacus Workout.
So I’ve decided, instead of using the music from Workout Muse, I decided that I would go in a slower pace, by counting my reps and completing at least 3 sets of the 10 different exercises.
Another challenge I faced was the lack of space in the gym for me to do the Spartacus Workout, and I was getting all kinds of weird stares from the body builders around me as I was attempting the Spartacus Workout this morning~! Nevertheless, I would give the Spartacus Workout another go on my next visit to the gym~!
If I fail, I will try again~!

Hey Sue, thanks for the encouragement, my body is slowly being condition to take the Spartacus Workout, even though it is the lighter version of the Spartacus Workout.

Elwyn, you didn’t fail to complete the workout… you succeeded in completed 7 out of 10 of the exercises!
Ahh Poh Nean~! That is a good way to put it, and yes I succeeded 7 out of 10. But my 2nd and 3rd attempt has more success though reduced in repetitions. But at least I had more time to recover in between exercises and was able to go through the 10 exercises at least twice. Hehehe.
7 out of 10 is 70% Distinction for first try! =) Keep on going! =)
As you said, this workout looks really easy but truth is that it’s intensive. First time I hit second round with all exercises done. Actually I was terribly exhausted like I’ve never been before. I had trouble to stand and walk at all. Then the second time again same result. But it’s getting better each time and now (3 weeks later, 9 workouts) I am able to do it !
It’s all about motivation and getting better shape and it obtains the greatest feeling.
